Our work
What We Do
At STAND, our work is centered on empowering Sudanese communities to lead transformative change through nonviolence, civic engagement, and inclusive development. We address the root causes of conflict and inequality through sustainable, participatory initiatives that focus on the people most impacted by crisis.
From grassroots peacebuilding to democratic governance, our programs are designed to strengthen communities, support civil society, and uplift the voices of youth and women across Sudan.
Our Focus Areas
Transforming conflict through nonviolence
Promoting transparency, accountability, and civic engagement.
Advancing the role of youth and women in peace and development.
Strengthening resilience through education, advocacy, and support.
We promote nonviolent methods for conflict resolution, foster inter-community dialogue, and support initiatives that build trust and resilience among divided groups.
Our programs strengthen participatory governance, raise awareness on civil liberties, and advocate for transparent, accountable institutions that serve all citizens fairly.
By empowering communities to engage in local decision-making, we foster active citizenship, social cohesion, and inclusive local development.
We advance gender equality and youth participation by building capacity, creating opportunities for leadership, and supporting their vital role in peacebuilding and development.
We support micro-finance initiatives, vocational training, and community-driven projects that create sustainable livelihoods and improve resilience.
STAND strengthens the capacity of local civil society organizations through training, mentorship, and technical support to enhance their role in advocacy and peacebuilding.
