The Ugandan capital, Kampala, recently hosted the launch of the Peace and Democracy Alliance in Sudan—a partnership between three independent Sudanese organizations: Burley for Peace and Development, Community Advancement for Progress, and the Sudanese Initiative for Nonviolence and Development (STAND).
The event took place at the Iliana Hotel, with the presence of representatives from Sudanese youth and women’s groups, as well as international organizations.
The Alliance aims to unify the efforts of civil society in promoting peace, delivering humanitarian aid, and supporting community development—with a strong focus on the empowerment of youth, women, and the most vulnerable segments of society.
