The Sudanese Initiative for Nonviolence and Development (STAND) is committed to shaping a peaceful and democratic Sudan through civic engagement, nonviolence, and inclusive development.

The Sudanese Initiative for Nonviolence and Development (STAND) was established and officially registered in Uganda in April, 2025. A Sudan chapter was registered with the federal HAC in December, 2025, offering a beacon of hope for a more peaceful and prosperous Sudan. As an independent, non-governmental, and non-profit organization, STAND is dedicated to fostering peace through nonviolent conflict transformation, promoting development via civic engagement and community empowerment, and advocating for good governance through enhanced community participation, accountability, and transparency.

A peaceful and democratic Sudan where all citizens enjoy equal rights, opportunities, and dignity.

Mission:

To promote peace, democracy, and sustainable development in Sudan through advocacy, capacity building, community empowerment, and by advancing the role of youth and women — all while fostering a culture of inclusivity, tolerance, and social justice.
